In short
This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, and loads no third-party content. Fonts, images and the search are served from the same server; the search runs in your browser. The search term appears in the address bar and can therefore, like any requested address, show up in the server logs. The only data processed is what every page request generates technically, and whatever you send me by email.

Hosting
This website runs on a server I operate myself, rented from a hosting provider in Frankfurt am Main. The provider processes the data on my behalf under a data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR. The purpose is delivering the website; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The connection to the website is encrypted with TLS.
Server logs
When you visit this website, the server automatically logs the information your browser transmits: your IP address, the time of the request, the requested page, the response status, the referrer URL, and browser type and version. I use these logs solely to operate the website securely and reliably, for example to detect and fend off attacks and to find errors. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the secure and error-free operation of the website. I do not combine these logs with other data sources. I delete them after 90 days at the latest.
If you write me an email, I process your details to answer your request. Email to this address is stored with my email provider; this may involve a transfer to the USA, based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the USA (EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is answering your message. I delete the details once they are no longer needed for that and no statutory retention obligation applies.
External links
Links to other websites, such as GitHub or LinkedIn, are ordinary links. Only when you follow one does its provider process data, under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). An informal message to the address above is enough.
Right to object
You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on my legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for me is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (ldi.nrw.de).
